ABOUT
Where your food comes from is important, and what goes into making the purest whey protein available is just as important as what does not. Source Organic Whey Protein starts with the finest raw ingredients and does as little to them as possible.
We start by working with farmers' that believe in the welfare and humane treatment of their animals. Our farmers' cows are a heritage breed called Jersey cows. These cows graze year-round on fresh pasture of clover, rye, and other native grasses.
The milk they produce is naturally high in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA's), lactoferrin and immunoglobulins. Our USDA Organic Certification, is our guarantee to you that our cows have never been given hormones, antibiotics, steroids, or genetically modified feed (GMO).
For the process to convert liquid whey to a powdered form we use industry leading processing techniques of cold-processed microfiltration and small batch drying to ensure the most nutrient dense protein.
Each bag is hand packed under the direction of certified organic processor. Our packaging is done in an environmentally conscious facility using 100% biodegradable bags. Once packed, our bags are shipped directly to you.
To meet the request of our customers our Source Organic Whey Instant protein, we add less than 1% organic lecithin to allow for the protein to mix instantly in any liquid. Our Source Organic Whey Classic protein contains no lecithin and mixes best when blended in a blender.

Process
Farmer's
We start with organic milk from four family owned local dairies, all within 90 miles of our whey processing facility.
Climate
The temperate climate allows cows to graze year-round on fresh pasture of clover, rye, and other native grasses.
Sustainability
With 100% of our milk coming from local dairies within a 90-mile radius, we greatly reduce the energy costs of transporting milk. The whey plant itself employs energy recovery systems, saving 43% on the energy required to dry the protein. Millions gallons of water per year and electricity are saved through water recirculation and electrical updates at our facilities.
Jersey Cows
Our farmers' raise a heritage breed of cow know as a Jersey cow. Jersey cows have a 20% lower carbon footprint than the Holstein cow, the mostly widely used breed by dairy cow.1
A2 Milk
Jersey cows produce A2 milk, whereas Holstein cows produce A1 milk. Recent research suggests that the protein structure found in A1 milk may play a negative role in certain health issues.
Filtration
Liquid organic whey undergoes cold-processed, ultra-filtration and a short-duration, low temperature drying process, to produce a powdered organic whey protein.
Did you know?
For every 1000 lbs of whey, 10 lbs. of our organic whey protein are produced.
Packaging
We use 100% biodegradable packaging that is free of phthalates, heavy metals, and genetically modified (GM) components.
USDA Organic
These methods integrate cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity. Synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, irradiation, and genetic engineering may not be used. The USDA organic seal verifies that producers met animal health and welfare standards, did not use antibiotics or growth hormones, used 100% organic feed or pasuture grasses free of pesticide and synthtic fertilizer free, and provided animals with access to the outdoors.
Oregon Tilth Certified Organic
Oregon Tilth Certified Organic (OTCO) is an internationally recognized symbol of organic integrity. OTCO provides a system that combines strict production standards, on-site inspections, and legally binding contracts to protect the producers and buyers of organic products.
Give Back
Every year we donate a portion of our profits, along with hands-on volunteer hours, to support local community causes and events.
